Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap is a staple product in my home, and my favorite travel soap. This little, green, solid soap bar is one of those rare products that I feel comfortable using from head to toe. It’s a great face cleanser and a great soap for your body. I’m sure you could even use it as a shampoo, but I haven’t tried that yet. Chandrika helps keep oily, acne-prone skin under control just as well as it washes away dirt, oil and odors that may have built up during the day. This soap is powerful, but non-drying. Though I have read reviews where other people found it drying, so this soap may not be ideal for everyone. Some people who don’t actually use the soap buy it for its scent, which you will probably either love or hate. Even if you don’t love Chandrika’s strong herbal smell, the scent is not offensive.
At 75 grams, or 2.64 oz, this is a fairly small bar of soap. One bar should last one person for about a week. I’ve purchased this soap for less than $1.00, and as much as $1.95 per bar. Chandrika has performed consistently throughout all the years that I’ve used it. It’s always good to keep a few bars on hand as this soap is incredibly convenient. Whether you’ve run out of face wash, body wash, or are traveling with just a carry-on bag, Chandrika will come to the rescue.
Word to the wise: This post is about the version pictured above, which is manufactured by S. V. Products in Bangalore, India. There is more than one manufacturer licensed to make Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap, and different versions of this soap have different ingredients. I haven’t tried the other versions so all I can say is stick with this one and you won’t go wrong.
